The climate scientists are now virtually unanimous.  The future lives of today's children are going to be  extremely difficult and unpleasant if we don't act decisively on climate now.

  • But is climate change really going to be as bad as all that?

  • Aren't the scientists divided amongst themselves?

  • And if it is what should we be doing about it?

  • You hear such very different things on this subject.

The Rossendale Climate Change Group exists to provide answers to these questions from local enquirers and to persuade the people of Rossendale to become more actively engaged.

We can deal with climate change.  But we need to do far more than we are doing and we need to do it now.

The RCCG started in 2005 as a study group, by running a series of monthly lectures, from some of the leading centres researching this wide ranging subject.

We have had Inventors, Dr's, Businessmen, Professors & other combinations of informed & talented people, at the current edge of Climate Change research, reporting & prevention.

We have learnt a lot, much more than generally appears in the normal media. Because of this members of the study group decided it needed to inform a wider local audience of what we had learnt & what might be done.

We aim to inform, discuss, educate, cajole & lobby perhaps, the local council, people & business in the Rossendale area about the issues affecting us now & in the future due to climate change & our use of energy & material consumption.

We hope to visit interested groups, disseminate information & be a source & centre for those wishing to learn more & do more to lessen the impact we are making upon our environment, locally & globally.
